Frances is a professional artist, experienced teacher as Head of Art and mentor of 16 years for young people of ages 6-25. She is currently working towards her MA in Art Psychotherapy.

In Frances’ workshops, she provides a safe environment where young people feel completely free to express themselves without feeling judged. She endeavours to allow young people to find their own creative flow and to be in the present moment.

The aim of the workshops is to discover new techniques and newfound abilities. Alongside this, young people will explore:

  • Uniqueness and freedom
  • Mindfulness
  • Awareness
  • Senses
  • Creative flow
  • Emotions
  • Resilience
  • Strengths

Collaborative and Community Workshops

Art is a fantastic means of communication across all abilities and can diminish barriers between people of all backgrounds and ages. It builds self-esteem, develops confidence and can promote empathy and understanding. Research shows that over 65% of communication is non-verbal (Mehrabian A. 1972, “Silent Messages: Implicit Communication of Emotions and Attitudes”).

Frances delivers half day, one day and bespoke workshops for schools, young people and communities.

Art Mentoring and Coaching

One to one mentoring and coaching taking into account the individual requirements of the young person that are agreed in a free initial session. This can range from scholarship and portfolio building sessions to increasing confidence in artistic techniques and materials to exploring self-esteem and resilience through the process of art.
